Grace

When she was 13-years-old, Emilia fell out with her best friend. They fell out over a relationship with a lad who was much older than them. Whilst Emilia didn’t feel comfortable about some of the things that the lad said and did, her friend craved the attention and affirmation. Then her friend stopped attending school. Then, apparently, she left home, but by this time Emilia was no longer in contact with her because she had found new friends.

Over 10 years later, Emilia is now a happy and successful young woman with a job, a flat and a fiance. But one day, in a run-down greasy-spoon cafe, she sees a tiny, bony, dirty woman with a face she recognises. It is her. It’s the friend she lost contact with. And so Emilia begins to rekindle the friendship and uncover the shocking story of what happened to Grace.

Currently in development for production in 2018, the story of “Grace” will be told in the form of a play and, later, as a film.
